A taste of Auggies

October 16, 2009

How many of you out there have been to those in-personal restaurants where you walk in and our greeted by a person who eventually hands you a device to let you know when it is your turn to be seated?  They treat you like any other ordinary person and move you out of the way and repeat the process with the next customers! How many of you have been to a restaurat where the owner comes out and asks you about the food or remembers your face and name, shakes your hand and welcomes you back again! You could say that this doesnt happen at my restaurant because I am not a million dollar corportion, or you could say that this is the flair and feeling you get at Auggies house of crab.

You get that personal feeling when you walk into the restaurant. My servers greats you with an authentic smile and I make an effort to come out from the back, take a break from cooking and great my customers with a smile, knowing that I provide them with a service we both want!

Auggie’s house of crab has no mechanical devices for you to hold onto. We have no million dollar budget. What we do have is a great local restaurant that puts it’s customers first and takes pride in providing them with a truly unique feeling and taste! A taste that can only be described as “A taste of Auggies”

The value of hardwork!

October 16, 2009

So many people are given so many things in life. Some people inherit their riches, some people scratch tickets for years till they hit the big money. I’m not jealous of them, I am happy for their success and wish them the best. Do I think that some people who inherit certain things understand the value that comes with it? No; not all of the time. I think what makes you more appreciative of the things you have in life is the hardships, the trial and error that with success and failure.

I believe that in working hard and maybe not getting what you want or deserve at the time makes you appreciate the little victories, the successes and especially the big wins you get when things finally go your way.

When you strive, suffer and take the hits that comes with growth and then you finally win, it’s a wonderful moment in your life. You can see it! you can see the quiet joy of success on someones face, deep in their eyes, when you look at where they have come from to where they are now! Its a beautiful thing!

So what is my point? am I trying to say that I am better then the person next to me who naturally walked into a good thing? No I’m not. What I am trying to say is that I am a man who has been to the top of the mountain and was never really satisified with what I saw around me. So I walked down it and waited till I found somthing worth taking that long hard walk up again.

In a honest, hard days work you gain value and pride in what you do. It may not always be a successful day, but those hard days, those long lonely walks that only make the successful day’s even sweeter.  My restaurant, my business is a testiment to what hard work, value and integrity can bring. And when I look back to all of my jobs..Gus the Gorilla, a san diego friar and a driver for fed ex. I can take pride in the fact that I was given nothing and made so much out of it. I understand the value of hardwork and perseverance.

I encourage you to come to my restaurant, and taste what pride really taste like, come to Auggies house of crab and eat some of the best seafood in town, made by a man who started with nothing and made his dream come true.

Fast food Vs. Good Food

October 8, 2009

How many of you out there are tired of the traditional burger. Far to many fast food restaurants have worn out the hamburger. They have dressed it up in so many ways, added a few spices and then to top it off change the name. In my life I have never figuered out what is the difference between a spicy chicken sandwich at Mcdonalds then Carls jr. Now the commericals may look different, the marketing ploys altered a little, but honestly were not idiots….It still tastes the same…boring, plain and not spicy.
We have warped ourselves so deeply into this culture of fast food and how convient it is, that we have forgotten just how good real food is. Food that is processed, frozen, sent to a fast food joint, thawed, cook and then served to us as a hamburger!! yuk… What ever happened to the days of real passionate cooking. When you sat down and your food was truly fresh and cook and served with pride and not sat next to a ticket number or thrown into a bag.

Good real food is hard to find these days, and if you find it, it is most likely overpriced. And society today makes it hard for restaurant owners who take pride in their craft to be successful. Real food isnt easy to make, it isnt a trait that you pick up over night, or a two days training process you learn at a fast food restaurant. It is an art to perfect and enjoy.

If you want to experience what Good great food taste like and not waste your time and money again on the convience of fast food. Then come stop by Auggies house of crab, where fast food is a thing of the past! We have amazing deals, happy hour specials and a terrific atmosphere!

Changes in the meaning of an “Authentic Meal”

September 27, 2009

What ever happened to an authentic meal. You know food was cooked and served in the old days. Many restaurants claim to serve an authentic meal the way their parents taught them or served in the manner of the old country. Some even have authentic written very bodly on their name on the outside for everyone to see. Authentic this, or Authentic that. But when you walk into the restaurant, nothing is really authentic about it at all. Nothing really reminds you of the old times when food was respected, enjoyed and served with pride. Now-a-days, you walk into the restaurant, you sit down and you get a plastic menu with two plates already placed at the table with a fancy rolled up napkin. You look around, converse with your significent other and order your meal, then you eat, leave and we call that an authentic meal. But what is so authentic about it? The spices are pre-packaged, the food left on a heat lamp till the rest of your order is complete. There is no real difference. It is like saying outback steak house and apple bees are truly different. The concepts are the same. They just slap the word authentic on it and hopefully fool the masses into thinking they got somthing unique and different. Now I ask you. If you really want a truly authentic meal? If you want a truly authentic eating experience, then you come to auggies house of crab, where our spices and salsas are all hand made. Where the food is truly authentic and without comparison, where fancy napkins are replaced with somthing even better. Now I dont want to spoil the rest, but if you are at all curious then come visit us at www.auggies .net and follow us on twitter, facebook and many more platforms to come.
